With an international portfolio, the stories that most compel me capture the macro structures and events of the world in the microcosm of the human experience and potential. Working with a European-British cultural understanding and aesthetic, I believe in a theatre of solidarity - in pursuit of truth, justice and against oppression.
Work spans new writing, adaptations, classics and documentary across stage, screen, TV and digital formats - as director, dramaturge, creative and cultural producer.
Training at Queen Margaret University, Edinburgh, and University of Bristol with work across Europe, UK and in the US.
Chummy at the White Bear Theatre, London, by BAFTA-winning John Foster garnered four Offie-nominations including ‘Best Director’. Further production nominations for The Little Prince and The Dao of Unrepresentative British Chinese Experience. Recipient of the European Theatre Conference (ETC) Artist Residency.
Founder and artistic director of Pick Up Productions CIC – a touring company for artists from alternative access pathways performing the classics with a twist on a pickup truck.
Alongside directing in theatre, they executive produce digital, streaming and video productions for TV and film formats and are a published writer (TheatreArtLife Magazine, StageLync), as well as for the stage.
Further work includes dramaturgy for LeftVision’s documentary film Rise Up (in cinemas, Netflix), executive producing work with Euronews for the Rolex Arts Festival in Athens, and various studio/greenscreen productions of informational and educational formats and streams. In 2023, they joined the R&D team for a new VR home experience centering the de Medici family in Renaissance Florence as head writer.
An interdisciplinary artist with use of mixed media and formats to create work challenging cultural, political and social narratives.
Theatre needs to push towards what we believe society can and should be - not further manifest that, which we already know is not satisfactory.
